Treehouse
Our Treehouse - a wonderful experience that will certainly enhance your safari and give you an even greater fund of stories to take home.
Just for two people, The Treehouse is an optional extra available to all guests who stay for a minimum of four nights at Beho Beho. The Treehouse experience starts in mid-afternoon when guests leave the camp on foot, accompanied by one of our armed guides, to walk for approximately two hours through the splendid isolation of the Nyerere National Park wilderness until they arrive at their home for the night - The Treehouse.
As you can imagine in true Beho Beho style, this is no ordinary 'sleep out', this tree house is perched alongside and within a giant ancient leadwood tree overlooking a dry river bed. Guests certainly get the 'sleeping up a tree feeling' but with a difference - this one comes with a proper ‘four poster’ double bed swathed in mosquito netting, and an ensuite bathroom complete with hot and cold water and a flush toilet! The whole platform is shaded and protected from the elements by a canvas pavilion - the bed comes complete with fine bed linen and a comfortable duvet - in fact everything one could wish for when sleeping up a tree in the middle of the African wilderness.

Guests are welcomed with cocktails before being able to take a hot shower on arrival, and as dusk turns to dark are escorted to a clearing for a campfire dinner under the stars entertained and protected by their safari guide.
After a romantic night of star gazing and being entertained by the sounds of the bush, the dawn brings birdsong and early morning tea, before heading off on foot to see the animals at their most prolific, returning for breakfast, where a suitably attired chef will cook up a gourmet breakfast to satisfy the heartiest appetite.
The intrepid guests complete the experience by either walking or game driving back to camp by safari vehicle to resume the rest of their Beho Beho safari itinerary.
Supplementary cost of The Treehouse is USD350 per person - fully inclusive. The Treehouse must be pre-booked and is not be available to be purchased in the camp.
* This kind of option is fraught with local difficulties, rain, heat, dust, mud, insects, animal movements etc etc - so all Treehouse experiences are operated at the discretion of the senior guide in camp at Beho Beho. The guide will decide which is the most suitable night of the four nights stay that guests will be able to enjoy this activity. If for whatever reasons pre-booked guests are not able to participate in this activity a full refund will be given to the booking agent and the guests will receive a complimentary voucher for a Treehouse night to be taken at another time in the future.
